Iron Gate - Calumet-Norvelt

Great overall experience. I reserved a table for my wife's birthday and I was very pleased with this selection. The things that stood out was the ambiance and service. The outdoor area just relaxes you with its cool vibe and the service are so friendly and they don't rush you. The food was good. Some dishes were excellent like the octopus, the hummus, and the spanakopita. The remainder of the dishes were good. The only negative is I thought the appetizers were overpriced with the portion sizes. I recommend this to anybody who is willing to spend for a very nice, relaxing experience. We'd go back.

We were rushed. It was our anniversary and we requested for outside seating, but were were not notified that there is a wedding happening and outside seating is not available. If you don't love fish not much to chose from.

It seems a large share of diners at Iron Gate are there to celebrate special occasions, especially weddings and anniversaries. Ditto for us. No wonder. It's hard to imagine anything more perfect. Exquisite and over-the-top amazing in every single way, divine cuisine, impeccable service, super atmospheric ambience. The best of DC, or of anywhere, really.

We went for our anniversary and had the best time. Chris was awesome and the food was delicious. We got the three course menu and everything was absolutely amazing. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be back !

The AC wasn't working, and the lights were doing strange things. The staff was trying to deal with some unhappy customers, and they were very gracious. The food was delicious!
