Lebanese Taverna - Calumet-Norvelt

My sister and I enjoyed a fabulous meal of wines and various appetizers. The service was amazing staring with the hostess. She was very warm and welcoming. Alex (I hope I got his name right) was a wonderful server very friendly and helpful; attentive but not hovering. The support folks with water and clearing the table were on top of things too. We love Lebanese Taverna and visit every time we are in town. Thank you!

Really good service and I can say that because we had a party of like 12 to 15 people, so considering it was on a Friday night, my hat's off to the staff first and foremost. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed casual but comfortable. The food did not taste very good though We ordered quite a few dishes and a kind of family style. We were starving and got mostly like the basics but I would say the appetizers were good but the meals they were really not seasoned well the texture was chewy and we got chicken beef and lamb plates. The appetizers and sides were good I just think maybe the main dish meats like chicken shawarma and the kabobs they could have been a lot more tender.

I had a great experience and the food and service was amazing. They had tons of hummus options. I highly recommend!

Best pita bread! Served freshly baked and hot. But when our food came, it was not hot. The chicken shawarma fell apart as the pita was all soggy and the fries were just ok, my chicken kabob was just a little warm, and the platter with mixed shwarma was room temperature. Food would have been excellent if it came hot. We think the food sat in the kitchen for a while until the server realized it was all ready.
