This was my first time visiting. Purchased Blue Crabs and King Alaskan Crab clusters. They steamed them for me, and they were delicious. Seasoned to perfection. In spite of the crowd, service was still good. Can't wait to go back...I'll be better prepared.
We came here during the Easter Sunday, decided to come here to buy some fresh blue crabs. They are the best blue crab. we will definitely coming back here for more blue crabs next time.We bought the live crab and they cook on the spot for us . both of my daughters loves them. it’s fresh and sweet is the best. we will be back here for more blue crabs. Every time we visit here highly recommend it.?
I came here few months before the pandemic back like 3 years ago. I came back over the recent weekend and it was a total joy to chill me back… Great Food, Great People… I encourage everyone to go and patronize these good people. Please don’t judge them by their looks; they’re hard working people and they are up sometimes as early as 2 am to go after making a living!!! There was all kind of fish and in my book; it was obviously 100% FRESH. Try to go there as soon as they open, better like 20-30 mins before opening time. You can see the fishermen and vendors setting up their seafood and don’t hesitate to start a chat with them and make a deal on the best fresh seafood around. I spent years comparing their prices to other major seafood markets and major grocery stores; I found out that they are the MOST REASONABLY PRICED SEAFOOD IN THE AREA WHEN YOU COMPARE QUALITY, FRESHNESS VARIETIES…!!! So I quit comparing prices and I head there now once a month if not twice. If you have a far of drive on the way back; I highly recommend you bring along a cooler to keep your seafood cold and fresh; don’t hesitate to ask the vendor for some ice and cover your seafood with it. If you inquire; some will go as far as exchanging recipes with you; if you’re not sure how you want to cook your seafood or even if you want it cooked a different way than the usual.I urge folks to drive down to the Wharf and give them some business, you’ll have great time and you’ll be amazed how fresh and reasonably priced their seafood. Enjoy it… And KEEP ON FISHING…!!!!!
Defiantly the best fish market in DC, and probably the only fish market. Really great selection of fish and shellfish. They accept credit cards and work late, up to 8pm on summer. Also you can get a fresh seafood as crab legs and clam chowder at the other side. Funny thing, the market goes up and down depending the water level in the river.
