So, we decided to come back a couple nights later for food. It was packed in the evening, but we were able to get a couple seats at the bar, luckily, without reservation. This bartender was much less attentive as he was mostly talking to friends, but was nice. Tried a couple different drinks which were much less appealing. Highly recommend any of the margs, or the mexican gin and tonic. Food was mid to good, but underwhelming for the price. While pretty okay, it is not any better than your local Mexcian restaurant other than a more diverse menu and ingredients, but the flavor is lacking.
Refried black beans with homemade tortillas are delicious! Lengua and carnitas tacos also delicious.
Awesome food. Wonderful service. A bit loud, but still had a great meal. The mojitos and beef tacos are a don't miss. I would go back!
Overall: 4.50. Trendy hotspot in Northwest DC. Conveniently located within a short walking distance from the Chinatown metro. Located across the street from another deliciously spectacular Jose Andres restaurant, China Chilcano. Recommend visiting during happy hour for a spirited occasion and discounted appetizers. The brussels sprouts are absolutely amazing. Strongly, recommend you check it out! Vegetarian options: Options for vegetarians with ability to special order menu items. Dietary restrictions: Some flexibility to custom order menu items based on your specifications. Parking: Street parking in NW DC is limited with parking meters. Conveniently located within walking distance from Chinatown metro. Kid-friendliness: Based on noise level and trendiness of this hotspot, do not recommend for young children. Wheelchair accessibility: Options for wheelchair accessibility; however, the seating is close to the next table.
Fresh, interesting flavors. Rather standard drinks, somewhat pricey. Guac and chips made fresh and you certainly pay for it. Ceviche was tied with lengua taco for best taste.
