The food was actually really good, very flavorful and the few options they have go very well together. The naan is also really good!!! Even-though the food was delicious, I can 't see myself eating here multiple times per week, a bit intense. Definitely recommended though, give it a try!!!
Very disappointed to find such poor terrible customer service here today. While I ate at the long communal table around 1 pm, someone stole my wallet from my purse, rifled through it stealing multiple credit cards, and tossed it on the ground and left. No one working here cared. My property was stolen in their business and they just shrugged. I told multiple staff members and asked if anyone had turned in a lost credit card or three. No was as much of a response as I could get. No one even left behind the counter. No one asked if I was ok. They just didn 't care. What terrible service, what a terrible way to treat a customer. To treat a fellow person. They set up of the restaurant allows anyone to walk in, not order anything, and pick wallets. I know Butter Chicken Company can 't stop bad things from happening, but I 'm appalled at how little they cared this happened in their restaurant. I 'm shocked the workers just stared at me. I can cancel all my credit cards, and I can choose to spend my money elsewhere. Beyond that, I feel helpless which is the last thing I expected when I went for lunch today. The chicken is good but the experience and hassle isn 't worth it. Update: A note for the owner who would rather lecture and continue the not my problem vibe he taught his employees. 1) it doesn 't take a security guard to say, dining in or carrying out? or noticing when someone takes a seat with out a tray of food, there were two people standing around behind the counter who could have done this. Lots of businesses in DC are busy, 300 is not a magic number that absolves you of responsibility. 2) I absolutely filed a police report, you could have phrased this as a question instead of assuming I didn 't do anything. This response is condescending and rude. I can give you the responding officer 's name and the case number, but you didn 't ask. 3) I tried to provide all of this information through the Contact form on your website I got multiple errors. You should fix your website and try customer service instead of whatever the heck this reply is. 4) my wallet was lifted and credit cards stolen at 1 pm on Tuesday, March 10th from Butter Chicken Company on 18th St NW DC. And your staff didn 't care At. All. And you lectured me instead of relating. I admit in my review businesses can 't stop bad things, but this interaction is further proof that your customers are not a priority. HOW AM I MORE MAD A DAY LATER...
This place was just OK. Not wow not impressed. I liked the sides more than the actual butter chicken but one of the sides was served to us cold which bothered me. The sauces were delicious and things were seasoned well. The butter chicken sauce was good, but the chicken was really tough not sure why. I don't think I would come back here unfortunately.
BCC is worth the hype. The ambiance inside makes one feel as if they are in India. The restaurant is very clean and organized. I came around lunch time so it was crowded. If you plan on sitting down and eating be aware that it might be hard to find seating. The staff is very attentive and the service is fast. The staff is also good with presentation. They make your plate neatly which is a huge plus. Nobody likes when food is thrown on the plate especially food that has a lot of sauce, so it can waste everywhere. The butter chicken is really good and is bursting with flavors and it's a very generous amount of food for $11. The chickpea's are also bursting with flavor as well. The yogurt that comes in the cup to pour over the butter chicken is to die for!!! I finally found an Indian cuisine food spot in DC. Highly recommend you will not be disappointed.
BETTER than BUFFET. I mean seriously for 11 bucks I got a GREAT PORTION of tasty authentic Indian Food. I def needed a nap after the meal!! The entire concept of this store 2 main dishes 2 sides and also the environment is fantastic. Also the Halal Meat makes it even more spectacular. I just wish they had a sign/certificate someplace so that my other friends will believe me that they serve zabihah halal.. I'll keep coming as long as I have my job in downtown DC
