The Kitchen Jerk - Calumet-Norvelt

Me and my fellow foodies decided to try this place after work today and we didn’t regret it! We did have to wait a little for our food to be prepared but that’s because everything is made fresh and it’s definitely worth the wait. The owners were very friendly and attentive and because of the wait they threw in a soda for our meal. I had the Seafood Medley, Crab Mac and had to try their beef patty! Everything was really good! I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed the food I ordered from this restaurant. J chicken rice fried cabbage and crab Mac and cheese were all awesomely prepared. I enjoyed the flavors. The crab mac cheese was really good once I heated it up. I would definitely order from this place again.

The Kitchen Joke ! Ordered here for the first time and my taste buds were watering while waiting for my food delivery. I ordered two orders of the Honey Old Bay wings, crab mac cheese, and yellow rice. So disappointing, both orders of wings were rubbery and hard and I couldn 't even bite the skin off the chicken! Literally the texture was biting into and chewing rubber bands! Tried putting them in the air fryer and it did not help. Called kitchen j to tell them my wings were rubbery and that they may want to taste test or evaluate before cooking order for the next customer. I only got sorry from the employee who answerd the call.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Wait was ridiculously long though taking over an hour longer than the expected time. When we arrived, we were told it'd be 15 min but we still waited an hour. By the time we spoke to someone else (at least 30 min later), theyd run out of what we'd paid for. The j chicken pasta was also too spicy for my husband. I enjoyed it but do think someone was a little heavy handed with the spices. I recommend if you have time and if manager does more to compensate people for inconveniences.

I wanted to give this more stars but it wasn't great in my opinion. I ordered the Mo'fire Pasta with salmon and while the flavor was there in the pasta the sauce was very liquidy like water would think it would be a creamier sauce with some substance instead you would need to eat it with a spoon. I also ordered the honey old bay wings there were flavorful just wish they were cooked a little longer as I like my chicken well done.
