We absolutely adore The Local! It's bittersweet for us to leave as we’re moving, and we’re sad to say goodbye to our favorite neighborhood spot. The bartenders and the owner are incredibly knowledgeable, creative, and friendly, making it a wonderful place to hang out. They have the best whiskey selection! Price per person: $20–30. The Local is located in Camarillo Springs, Camarillo, and has been serving patrons for five years. Though it's a bit off the beaten path, word of mouth has made it known as the best Irish bar ever, attracting visitors from all over who want to experience it for themselves. I'm continually amazed when I meet people at the bar who have traveled great distances just to check this place out. I’m fortunate to be a regular at The Local, but even if I weren’t, I’d make the trip because they offer fantastic cocktails, incredibly skilled bartenders, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a fan of dive bars or upscale cocktail lounges, The Local caters to both preferences. Personally, I lean towards dive bars and love the unique energy here. The ambiance is dark and inviting, creating the perfect neighborhood feel where everyone knows one another. If you’re a newcomer, you’ll be treated like a friend right away. The cocktails here are top-notch and can easily compete with those at any five-star trendy bar. They have a vast selection of liquors and unique ingredients, allowing for personalized drinks. The extensive cocktail menu features classic favorites along with some really creative options that keep me coming back for more. The staff is amazing—Mikey, the owner, needs no introduction. Everyone loves him, and when you visit, chances are you'll find him behind the bar, ready to greet you and chat. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, you’ll be treated like family. All of the bartenders here are wonderful; the quality of people working at The Local shows in every delicious drink they serve. And don't overlook the craft beers on tap! The Local has a fantastic rotating selection of beers, which is always exciting since you can try something new each time you visit. I've learned so much about different beers, ciders, and seltzers from spending time here over the years. Before I wrap up, here are a few bonus points (if I haven't convinced you already): the bar is impeccably clean and a cozy spot to hang out, food delivery is allowed so it’s very foodie-friendly, there’s a spacious bar and plenty of tables, the drink prices are unbeatable for the quality, and most importantly, it’s a fun yet safe place to enjoy a drink with friends. The Local truly is a hidden gem, and the 805 area is lucky to have it. It’s my favorite place to relax and have a good laugh. I hope you check it out soon—I look forward to seeing you there!
