The food is not as cheap as you'd think for the small portions and old-tasting meat. The mango lassi was pretty good and the basmati rice was very sweet. The meat portion (I got chicken) was very small.
Despite recommendations for parathas and Chole bhature, I ordered a Bathura and Chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka masala came as a thali with rice, salted yogurt, and pickles, and was a generous portion similar to what you might find at an Indian dhaba. Although the presentation was authentic and appetizing, unfortunately the chicken was cold and seemed like it had been prepared hours before. Being late, I didn't dwell on this too much. Surprisingly, everything tasted delicious and had a great texture. The staff could have been warmer and more hospitable. The restaurant is small, with some outdoor seating available. They only accept cash, which I wasn't aware of beforehand, so I didn't have enough to tip them properly. This is the best Indian food I have had in Boston without a doubt. Will I go back? Absolutely, I can't wait! There are great vegetarian options available and the portions are large, so it's a good idea to ask before ordering. There is plenty of street parking around, although it may be difficult to find during peak hours.
Awesome spot for takeout. The servings are generous and the food never disappoints. I 've tried items all over the menu and haven 't had anything worse than very good . I tend towards the chicken or lamb mushroom masala the most often. Meat is tenderly cooked and the sauces are extremely flavorful. Spice levels can go high if you want it. Naan is typically fluffy and hot but occasionally this is the item that suffers by being mass produced on busy days. Highly recommend getting a vegetable samosa with any dish, they are delightful. For dine-in there 's a new plaza right outside if you prefer outdoor seating to the somewhat tight interior space. I usually get takeout. With the new plaza outside, curbside pickup is no longer feasible, but there 's a bank one can park in for a minute without a fuss, to run in and grab your already-ordered food. Oh, and they are one of the few restaurants I regularly order from with an extremely responsive and useful custom website. This place rules and the people working there are super nice too!
Recently, something has clearly gone wrong at this restaurant as the quality of the food has significantly decreased. My chicken tikka masala was flavorless, runny, and served cold. The dosa I ordered was greasy and too thick. Despite the numerous positive reviews that initially caught my attention, it seems that the positive feedback is outdated and does not reflect the current state of the kitchen. After looking into it further, it appears that recent reviews are overwhelmingly negative. I would recommend dining elsewhere.
A staple of Inman Square! Reliably delicious food served either to-go or in their cozy upstairs or downstairs dining areas. The new park right outside provides wonderful additional outdoor seating. The Aloo Gobi is a vegan
