This is no Tim Hortons - fresh, hand made, hand decorated donuts to die for. Expensive though...9 donuts, $23. But something special.
I came across a friends post on Facebook about Malassada World that peak my curiosity. Called up my cousins and headed out there from Mississauga. It was definitely worth the trip. I tried both the traditional and signature malassadas. Both are delicious. My favorite is definitely the passion fruit one! I found the prices to be reasonable. They made the malassadas fresh for us. There weren't many left in the display. As we were waiting, quite a few people came in...the wait wasn't long. It's a small store front not much room to sit. Very cute set-up. We had a few malassada left over and had them the next day...they were still very good. I definitely make the trip again.
Called ahead and ordered 1/2 dozen signature malasadas and 1/2 original malasadas. The shop is small, but very clean and was easy to find. The malasadas are fantastic. The passion fruit and custard ones are to die for, but the chocolate and apple crumble are also delicious. We loved them. Would recommend you try them for yourself. They also serve Portuguese Calde Verde and sandwiches.
I have been waiting for a place like this and it took so long to finally get there to try these delicious doughnuts. I ordered six because I don't know when I would be back in Cambridge again. I was not disappointed. And they can be enjoyed the next day ( I had two left)with a quick pop in a toaster oven.
