But the staff still found us a table , for starters my partner had the soup he loved it, I just wanted the bread it wasn’t good very hard. For mains he had the fish and chips said that was delicious, I had the mushroom risotto, could have had a little more flavour but was very pleasant. The waitress and waiter we had serving us we brilliant, the waiter was absolutely amazing , kind and polite, will definitely go back even if we don’t stay in the hotel.
We had a wonderful experience . The butler was so considerate and attentionate. I would like to commend the excellent service, I came for an afternoon tea with a person living with advanced dementia and they were able to accommodate us and make us feel welcome and comfortable despite the challenges. I will come again and recommend it to my friends and to people living with invisible disabilities. The afternoon tea was a delight.
Very disappointing. The waiter was great but then when trying to enjoy afternoon tea felt hassled as manager wanted more information about the voucher and stopping my friend and I enjoying ourself The cakes were a let down. Dry. Stodgy. No apology and kept away from us. Don't think I'd return
I came here with my mum using a buy a gift afternoon tea voucher, so had to call ahead to book my table and on this call I made them aware of my dairy allergy and that I would like a vegan afternoon tea. On arrival we were asked about any dietary requirements so I told them again that I had a dairy allergy and would like a vegan option. The waiter went away and then came back to tell me that because they didn’t know about this that it would be a 15min wait (no problem with waiting). The sandwiches were; mushroom, cucumber, and vegan cheese. They were just the respective fillings inside buttered bread, which wasn’t very appealing to me. The scones were nice however the only option I had was margarine or jam for topping. Only 2 cakes to choose from; they were nice if you liked those types of cakes but not for me. Overall I really think the vegan options could do with some work but at least there was something I could eat.
Afternoon tea. Staff were inattentive. I had to get up several times to ask for things. We went for afternoon tea. Vegetarian tea. Not worth at all We had bottle of prosecco, staff do not pour the prosecco and waiters kept ignoring and quickly disappeared.. Won't return.
