The donut was sweet and crispy but not greasy and really good! I walked around a little but could no longer feel my fingers so it was time to go I want to go check it out more and wish I got some apple cider to bring back but decided to avoid frostbite. Brought it back to my family's place and everyone loved it lots of syrup but from real sugar not corn syrup and the apples had a great flavor and natural sweetness to them. The crust was flaky and the topping crunchy. Totally worth the drive! Also their frozen pies are a great idea for special treats!
Their apple pies and Apple Turnovers are truly worth the drive to Apple Hill to grab both. Yummy for sure!! They do not skimp on the filling. While there I also had their pull pork sandwich and it wasn't a disappointment...plenty of meat, well seasoned and you have multiple choices of sauces. Definitely a two thumbs up.
I use to love this place. Came today to get a pie which is still the best on the Hill but the tri-tip sandwiches are no longer served. I had an extremely rude experience with a young employee. We arrived about 420pm. We were looking at the menu and I even asked her a question about the tri tip sandwiches and she gave me an answer. Business was open and nothing was said to us as we're standing at the order line choosing our meal. Out of no where she proceeds to flip the closed sign in front of our faces and says nothing! She just flipped it and walked away! I said WOW you saw us getting ready to order, Couldn't you have said hey we're getting ready to close when I asked about a menu item. She smirked and ignored me. So unprofessional! You don't treat customers that way. I asked for a manger and she was professional and offered to make us food because the grill was still going. I said no because at this point I'm completely turned off. As I'm speaking with the manager the girl is in the back smirking and talking ****. The manager didn't say anything to her as I pointed out what she was doing. I hope management reads this because this makes me want to take my business else where! The entire vibe was just off. Sadly I'll be looking for a new favorite spot at apple hill
This place has a little bit of everything that you could want from Apple Hill. It 's such a kid and dog friendly place. The only thing is no alcohol. There is an apple barn, bake shop, hay maze, corn maze, pumpkin patch and gemstone mining. The apple barn had 3 variety of apples and a large array of Christmas decorations. There are some jarred products like apple butter and candied jalapeno. The vendors were fun to browse around. I got a wooden truck for my son. It was such good quality. I hope to get one each year to add to his collection every time we come here. The gemstone mining was fun for the kids. I think it 's more fun for the little kids as the process is rather simple. It really is just panning for rocks in a pile of sand that gets washed away in the water. There are a few options to choose. I got the $12 green bag. It came with large rocks. The blue one has fossils and the other color had less rocks but bigger in size. It was good enough to split between two kids. Once we chose our bag, it was dumped in our pan and we doused it in water to wash away the sand and reveal the gems . The gems are really just large rocks. Some were crystal like and we did get a rock half coated in gold. My son was happy to have struck gold. The maze does cost money. There is a pumpkin patch with only one variety of the typical orange pumpkins. Restrooms are porta potties.
I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. I highly recommend trying the gem mining; it was a lot of fun. The apples and pie were fantastic, and I also loved the nature trails.
