The teens in our group were amused by the antics of the two neighbouring horses while we enjoyed drinks al fresco. The food was superb, really delicious and original, possibly slightly small portions for a hungry young man/older teen boy but lovely to enjoy the whole meal, three courses without feeling over stuffed. The staff were really calm and accommodating. The only tiny thing, and it really didn't matter as we were not in a hurry, was the rather long wait between ordering and food arriving, probably because we were a big group and all the food was freshly prepared. But when it did come it was so worth the wait. As it grew dark the garden was lit up which made for a lovely atmosphere. Total thumbs up for a most enjoyable experience. Highly recommend.
The local wine shop recommended this auberge for its quality food. We had a choice of 3 original starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts. As a group of 8, we tried most of them and all thought the food was excellent. We would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
We were staying close by in a gite and asked the owners for a recommendation, and arrived at La Jaguais one Friday evening. We chose the longer of the menus as we were celebrating our Anniversary. What followed was a delightful meal which I would class as fine dining. Each course was beautifully cooked and well presented. Having fairly ropey French and the nice waitress very little English was a challenge, but both parties were willing and happy to have a try. (Weds and Friday were the only evenings it's open so booking is advised)
