Announcing I was a vegetarian did not faze the owner and I had a large plate of a hot fresh tomato soup sitting on a bed of the local bread and with a poached egg on top. This was followed by a very fruity mango mousse. My carnivore companions had an equally delicious meal accompanied by a good wine.
Food was great! We had the lamb chops and lamb stew. The chops were really super tender and grilled perfect. The lamb stew was full of flavour and excellent. Good local wine and cheese. Overall highly rated and we would go back.
Had a lovely meal with great views looking down on the fountains in Castelo de Vide . My husband had Bacalou, salted cod, and I had the Porco Preto. These are usually served with chips, rice and salad. Lovely house wine. All in all a very pleasant meal
We had lunch at this restaurant. We (two of us had appetizer and an entree each (mine was a fish dish that was very bland and disappointing , half bottle of wine, and ended up with a bill of 43€. We have been touring around Portugal for the past 2 weeks, had meals much better executed than this, at significantly lower price (usually less than 30€ . I feel that this restaurant provides a very poor quality to price ratio.
We cane to this restaurant recommended by one of the locals and after having read the reviews in TripAdvisor because it is the only restaurant in the village that has a nice terrace with good views but were quite disappointed with the way in which we were atended by the owner that was not at all welcoming. The food is within the average in the area. Would not come again.
