The food was undoubtedly some of the most delicious I've eaten in Cape Town, the waiters are attentive and friendly without being overbearing and though the atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, I really felt like I'd had an indulgent evening. Would absolutely recommend this place to all.
The most wonderful dining experience, by far my favourite so far in Cape Town. An absolute must try the most honest and tasty food and an all round relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.
An unforgettable dining experience. I felt like I was transported to a classy dining cart on a luxury train and a murder mystery was about to take place. The beef and horseradish sauce paired beautifully with the subtle flavours of beetroot and orange salad. But the choc Guinness cake stole the show. This perfectly prepared menu is complemented by one-of-a-kind vintage crockery and finishing touches. Karen Dudley cooks with magic.
The dining room is the perfect combination of quality homeliness and decadence. The decor inspires cosiness and comfort with an air of old money elegance and this coupled with Myles’ charm makes you feel taken care of and loved not to mention very well fed.<br/ <br/ The menu is fresh and seasonal, changing every time we go there; with a myriad of starters that can satisfy every palette, your choice of mains with heaping side dishes and the perfect sweet ending.<br/ <br/ Note that there is no liquor license but there is no corkage fee either. Plus, if you tell them how you like your gin and tonic it will arrive perfectly garnished every time. A girl couldn’t ask for anything more.<br/ <br/ A firm favorite, we make sure to pop into The Dining Room every time we go to Cape Town. We suggest you add it to you 'must do” list immediately.
Had a wonderful dinner ! Karen got it spot on with this place, what an experience! If great food is what you are looking, I don't think there are many places out there which can compare with The Dining Room
