We all enjoyed everything, especially the buffet which offered a wide variety of choices. The fat back was particularly delicious, like a little slice of comfort food heaven. The desserts were tempting and indulgent, sure to add a few pounds but so tasty. The staff were friendly and down-to-earth, even interacting with our two-year-old which we appreciated. This restaurant may be small and located in the countryside, but it has a big personality.
The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are extremely friendly. The restaurant is clean and the prices are upfront and reasonable. However, the quality of the food has declined recently. The oven baked chicken on the buffet was dry and lacked flavor, not at all like the fried chicken they used to have. The grilled chicken off the menu was processed and tasted artificial. It seems that the change in ownership has resulted in a decrease in the food quality. Additionally, there was an unexpected processing fee added to our bill when paying with a card. It may be best to pay with cash and avoid the chicken dishes at this restaurant.
I met up with my family from North Carolina and had an early lunch at their cafeteria-style buffet. I must say, the dishes I selected were excellent! Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly that day. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. I will definitely be stopping by again when I have the chance.
Great place with actual home cooking! This place makes pretty much everything from scratch! Amazing chicken and dumplings! The biscuits are like softball sizes too!
Buffet, cafeteria type of place. Nice enough place, friendly staff , sweet ice tea was ok. The chicken was tender and good, the taste was so so. Smashed potato was ok. The gravy was kind of bland, needed more salt and pepper, roux needed a bit longer cook time. Corn was ok. Biscuit was large fluffy tender, but lacking in taste department Now the not so good, green beans kind of tasted like they were cooked in dishwasher water. Edible yes, overall a little bit over pricedfor what it is.
