The food is based on West Indian cooking but some of the food has lost flavour in the translation. This was my third time coming. Some of the dishes are a knock out like the lobster chow mein and the goat arancini, others are kind of middling. The drinks are terrific. The doubles were super disappointing as were the salt fish fritters. Hey Ya'll! It's your girl here. I experienced Miss Likklemore's about 3 weeks ago. Let's start with the interior design/vibe. I would rate that a 10/10. The restaurant is beautiful and the dj was great from beginning to end. The service- a 5/10. We were dining for my cousins birthday and we expected to be greeted by someone who match the vibe of this restaurant, but unfortunately not. Our waiter for the night didn't seem as enthusiastic about coming to our table, interacting with us, or listening to our concerns. The Food- a 5/10. As a Black Caribbean woman who loved to travel and had tried food around the world the food was very disappointing. A lot of the food had plenty of citrus, pickled, or vinegar based that shouldn't be in those specific cuisines such as doubles and the braised collard greens. I would NOT recommend. The oxtail also could have been cooked a little more. It was very chewy. The Crab XO could've been a good dish if the rice was not too mushy. I would say the two best things I tried were the likkle patties and the lobster chow mein (not that much lobster but I'll still take it). I had the opportunity to speak to the chef of the restaurant who was very pleasant and tried to convince me otherwise about the dishes but I wasn't sold. This establishment won't get my money again but I wish it the best!
Last week, I ordered takeout and I did not like the new Jerk chicken recipe. The quantity and flavors are no longer the same. I was a bit skeptical when the server told me it would be a chicken breast but I tried it anyway. What I ordered was supposed to be half a chicken, and it cost 35 dollars. You can look at the previous photos to see what the previous recipe looked like. If the recipe remains the same, I will no longer order the jerk chicken. Really a shame! I went for brunch this morning and the food and atmosphere were great. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the service was excellent. The menu had a good variety of options, and the dishes I tried were delicious and well-prepared. I had the steak and eggs, and my wife had the oxtail Benedict. We also tasted the chicken and waffles. It was a pleasant experience overall, and I’ll definitely be coming back for brunch again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This restaurant is a MUST go! The food is fantastic, I ordered the patties, tempura okra, jerk chicken and lobster chow mein. They were all delicious! The drinks here are also great. They have an extensive rum selection from around the world. The ambience is wonderful, this place is the perfect date spot. Can't recommend it enough!
