Sophie's Dine-in And Takeout

We first tried this restaurant out as a takeout, and I absolutely loved it from the smell. Our family got the kabob koobideh and its amazing, especially for people who want to try classic Persian food. Today, we went to dine in, and we tried the chicken kabob (leg) which everyone loved, and we got the gheimeh and saffron rice. The gheimeh I didn't personally try, but my family ate it up FAST. As an appetizer we got the shirazi salad and it's very good for people who love tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions under a wonderfully concocted vinegarette. For dessert, I love desserts, we ordered the persian saffron ice cream and the Turkish baklava, and the ice cream has that authentic persian/Iranian saffron taste, while the Turkish baklava is simply amazing for those who have tried other baklavas. The ice cream has a floral taste, its very sweet, yet has nuts which give it a more savoury taste. This ice cream smells and tastes like the fresh breeze of a sakura spring. BUT yes. This restaurant simply has my heart, and Sofie is a very kind person, and funny. I highly recommend this good food for those wanting to try something new for their tastebuds. Loved this place until I ordered two soups for pick up that i noticed had gone bad once I got home to eat them, upon realizing this I called in to let the restaurant know and they asked me to come in the next day for a refund. Once i came in i explained to the employee what the issue was and she proceeded to call the owner, I spoke to them and they were rude and never even apologized, she just asked me to add water to the soup. I know these things happen in the restaurant industry and came in with the best attitude but then I was met with the owners disregard for the issue and the employees confusion after the owner went off on them because they needed to refund me and couldn’t figure out how, honestly an unnecessary situation for the employee and me. A lot of areas in which the owner could do better, hopefully they will. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$10–20

My second time here in 6 months and nothing has changed: the food is as brilliantly delectable as I recall, with overwhelming portion sizes and the owner is as friendly and kind as they come. She even goaded me for not having come back in 6 months. So our food is that bad that you don 't come in 6 months! All in good fun. If you ever want to step outside of the comfort zones of western dining, this is the place to do it at.

Great experience. Highly recommended. The food was very good. But the highlight for us was the amazing people there. They were very welcoming and friendly, very attentive, and nice. I tried two stews both were great and big portions. We also tried chicken and beef kebab portions were good size and the taste was great. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Food was excellent! I love Persian food and Sophie’s just nailed it. Sophie was so helpful with my selections she even catered to my Leto dietary restrictions.
