The staff were friendly and great, but the burgers are hard to eat unless you have a plate, it was rather pricey and the chips were stale and cold. This is the second time we have experienced this, so I won't be going back; there...are better burger places.
We visit brod burger every time we visit Canberra. It’s an institution. You know there’s a line and there’s a small wait but it’s consistently brilliant and tasty! I always end up getting a second burger. Save time and use the app!
I attended the Capital Brewing Co at Fyshwick with some friends for a Wednesday lunch. We arrived just after 1 p.m. and were surprised at how busy the place was. Nevertheless we checked their online ordering website and discovered there was a wait of about...an hour for food. Some were discouraged and decided to leave as they couldn't afford to hang around for an hour as they were on work time. I do remember the long wait is a typical Brodburger experience so I wasn't too upset. Time progressed and finally I was notified by their online ordering system. That's a positive, the ordering experience was fairly painless and there is a timer which keeps you updated about your order progressing. Unfortunately the food quality wasn't anything special. The burger was tasty enough and the chips were hot but you could tell it was rushed and the quality wasn't anything extravagant. It's probably on par with grease monkey nowadays. I think the burger and chips was about $24 all up so a little bit disappointing but it does seem difficult to find a burger in Canberra under $20 nowadays. The hot dog was a total let down, cold, poorly presented and sloppily made. These guys used to have an outlet at the Hamlet a while back and the hot dogs there were decent quality. Crunchy kransky, just the right temperature and quite tasty. Unfortunately those days seem to be over. Many people make the dedicated journey for the Brodburger experience but I certainly wouldn't return specifically unless I was already at the brewery, wanted a snack to eat and wouldn't mind the hour wait.
We are from Victoria and we stayed in the area, and really struggled to find a good, easy, family friendly food place. This was certainly a hit and have gluten free and vegan options. Wish we had found it earlier.
