I ordered the salt and pepper chicken with orange rice and my friend ordered the Bo Luc Lac. Both dishes were delicious. The rice was flavoursome and balanced the savoury flavour of the chicken/beef. Both dishes came with a soup which allowed you to cleanse your palette at the end. I would highly recommend this place if you want to try Vietnamese food and Cabra is too busy. It's much easier parking at Canley Vale. A lot of tables if you are coming as a group.
If you like the Vietnamese soup Pho, you should also try another Vietnamese soup called Bun Bo Hue which is totally different flavour but as wholesome and enjoyable. Here at Gia Hoi Canley Heights (also in Haymarket Sydney), the flavours are as good in HCMinh City that I recently experienced. There's plenty of other specialties like the wrap your own fresh spring roll in rice paper. Open well lighted dining area and plenty of tables to choose from.
Canley Height is fast coming a street full of nice restaurants. Pho Gia Hoi with orange colour shopfront have restaurant in Eastwood NSW as well & we have been going there for years. However this Pho Gia Hoi at Canley Height is somehow cooking more delicious meals. Our favorites are quails with chili & onions, special beef noodle soup.
The pho was lacking depth of flavour, the bun thit was lacking flavour, the fish sauce was way too sweet. The coffee was harsh and bitter. Not recommended.
