Il Viaggio - Cannes

Excellent. simply amazing. I mention that I live between Cannes and London only because with Tripadvisor you often don't know what the frame of reference the reviewer is coming from ("foodie' or " service snob" or " went during v high season" .. etc. you get it).. so the point is that I've been fortunate to have had pulpo /octopus in many of the best locations but I can say Il Viaggio offered one of the best I've ever had! And since I spend months here, and frequent lots of places in Cannes - not just the chi chi places.. I will say it is a 'must go'. But here's the thing.. listen when they recommend -- in this, you will actually get what they do best and not the most expensive thing like lots of tourist traps will do. I know the guys who own this place - they eat at their own restaurant; that says a lot. They are two great guys and they are here tirelessly really interested in offering amazing food and great service. If you happen not to like something (i'd be surprised) , tell them .. but that won't happen :-). Truly excellent pulpo tonight, succulent, not dry, not too charred .. veg perfectly done. and all with Italian charm. Plus the location is calm and away from the scene which is a nice escape. I highly recommend.

Our family visited this restaurant 7th of July 2017. The restaurant is located in Place de Commandant Lamy in Cannes - a quite little square. Food was excellent and wine was served with spot on temperatur. Good service.

Équipe très très aimable d'une gentillesse rare. Repas excellent cadre agréable. Je recommande vraiment et je vais revenir c'est sûr.

Sea Bass was sub par. Nice staff but I'd skip this place! Setting outside on the square was nice, not too crowded.
