The Haywain - Canterbury

My wife, our friends, and I recently dined at this restaurant and felt it was time to share our experience. The Sunday dinner was exceptional, with a variety of meat options and a selection of mixed vegetables for guests to choose from. The desserts, which were included in the set price, were delicious and offered a range of toppings. The staff were attentive and friendly, and Kevin, the bartender, had a great selection of beer to choose from. It is recommended to make a reservation due to the restaurant's popularity. In conclusion, this is a reliable and enjoyable place to dine and drink.

Just had the most enjoyable Sunday lunch with two friends. Superb quickly served Roast Pork, with a ton of vegetables, followed by a Tiramisu trifle. Fabulous staff and a quick hello with the owner. Would highly recommend.

On a recent visit to the Haywain I chose paella for lunch as I had tried it before and really enjoyed it. Sadly not this time! A very modest dish for £17 of oily rice, a few prawns and pieces of chicken but far too much chorizo which left everything tasting very salty. I counted at least 16 pieces and had to leave some. A few mussels would have been preferable but not one of these in sight. Very disappointing. The Haywain is a friendly pub thanks to its Landlord and staff which is more than can be said for the Landlady!!

My husband and I visited The Haywain last night with our son and his partner. So glad we chose this pub for an evening meal. The place had an open fire and the radiators were on, very welcoming on a bitterly cold night. We had a three course meal and all four of us chose steaks for our mains, all cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. The staff and proprietors were friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. I have already recommended this place to other family members and friends.

The best Sunday lunch since we moved to this area two years ago. And we have been nearly everywhere from basic to high-end. Good meat, vegetables cooked to perfection, real gravy and Yorkshire pudding. Beautiful dessert too. And all for a really good price. 10/10. We will be back so to try the rest of the menu.
