Popped in here yesterday afternoon a visit to the nearby church and Roman Fort. Service was very friendly and the menu had a great range on offer. We opted for Sunday roasts. Reasonable prices and very nice indeed. Will be going back.
Unfortunately a terrible experience. We ordered the Sunday roast. Young lad served us and brought all 4 roasts out. I started to eat mine but found part of a plastic bag in my vegetables. I beckoned the lad who served us and all he had to say was 'I only serve it ' . Not a great attitude. He said 'Do you want me to take it back? '. I found that question absolutely terrible. I informed him to take it back. It appeared to be taking quite a long time and my husband asked one of the female bar staff if it was going to be served again. She replied that she will look into it and returned to say it needed to be cooked again. There was no apology from any of the staff or the kitchen staff. It was as though they just wanted to sweep it under the carpet Our friends and my husband were just finishing their dinners when I received mine again. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were quite hard. Probably been put in the microwave. What I can 't believe is that there was no apology or anything...a really terrible experience.
The restaurant is friendly and welcoming to children. The salad is tasty and there is nothing to not like about it. It is conveniently located near a children's play center, making it perfect for families. I have visited this restaurant many times and the food is always good considering the price.
The restaurant is in a good location, but there was a very rude man at the bar where you have to order your drinks and food. He was using foul language regardless of who came in. I'm glad I didn't bring my children there. There was more profanity than at a football match. I won't be returning.
