We decided to try out this pub for Sunday lunch after reading positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately, our experience was a letdown. We waited for 50 minutes for our meals, which felt like a long time. They had run out of beef, so my two daughters and I settled for chicken, while my husband opted for the duo of pork and chicken. The chicken was dry, the roast potatoes were soggy, and the peas were still frozen. The Yorkshire puddings were tiny and comical in size. We had to remind the staff about our cauliflower cheese, which arrived after we had almost finished our meal. While the staff were friendly and helpful, we believe the chef may need to be replaced. Overall, we will not be returning to this restaurant.
Brilliant food, beers very good, friendly staff, good local pub well worth a visit. Very dog friendly even a dog menu available.
Having been to Canterbury so many times I have no idea why I hadn’t been to this pub before! What a lovely pub. The food was really good and vegan/vegetarian choices. I had the southern fried chicken burger with skin on fries. My friend had halloumi with skin on fries. We both had the special desserts chocolate delice with caramel sauce. Reasonably priced too. Great atmosphere with the rugby on tv. Staff very friendly and attentive. The pub is also dog friendly : Will definitely return when going to see a show at Marlowe
Some of the best kept ales I've ever come across. Amazing selection, top quality. Am looking forward to my fish and chips!
