My main was meant to be steak chips and watercress salad, I ended up with rocket instead of the salad which was a little disappointing. The chips were really good. The desert was ok, the pavlova had almost no meringue and the cheeseboard was the most disappointing, being very small, having some old shriveled grapes for £12 and 5 small biscuits and a tiny portion of cheese. The staff attended us well. You have to pay at the bar before you get the food leaving you no recourse. Stick with the starter and mains.
Went for lunch. Lovely pub in a great setting with the bonus of a large sunny garden. Very friendly welcoming staff too. But the food was a real let down. Both meals had obviously been microwaved. The seafood spaghetti had shell in it making it gritty. The pie top was so hard and overbaked the only way to eat the pie was to turn it upside down. The inside of the pie lid was black! The pub is a great place to meet for drinks but I wouldn't eat there again.
Got the seafood risotto and it was quite bland but edible nevertheless. The salt and pepper squid changed and it’s basically calimari now. Loved the loaded fries. Would definitely get it again. The staff was extremely friendly which really made the experience. Food came out efficiently.
We went to the olde Beverlie today for a family get together and had the Christmas menu. We all loved it and the food was great. Would definitely recommend The pub and the waitress was really great.
It is a lovely old pub with friendly staff, and good food. It is also dog friendly, hence why it deserves a higher rating. The only reason why I rated it a 4 rather than 5 is due to, two criticisms, it's food menu could be more varied, and there was no non-dairy milk option for tea and coffee.
