My friend complained to the Manager who told us that we must have taken too long...to come and collect our pizza! We were standing in the bar area when it was brought out of the kitchen and it was handed to us there and then. Following a lengthy discussion, we said that due to the awful attitude of this Manager we would not be coming back again. The response was ‘I don’t care’! Such a shame that our day was spoiled by the disgusting attitude of a member of staff at an establishment with a long history in Queensland.
I cannot rate the restaurant highly enough... a truly positive experience from initial inquiry, booking and dining experience on the day. I was looking for a quiet venue to hold a small, informal family birthday gathering. What I found was a friendly, accommodating team who...went above and beyond to ensure a very special celebration for the whole family. Impressive lunch menu, amazing food and wines, beautiful venue and surroundings, and the most friendly, hospitality-driven staff I have encountered for a very long time. All of us (party of 12) were thrilled and grateful for your attention to detail. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a short snack, an extended lunch or a special occasion. The scenic drive, creekside vineyard location and alpaca experience were icing on the (birthday) cake.
Cannot speak highly enough of this winery. Fantastic day for the whole family with great food, alpacas and exquisite wines in a spectacular setting with gorgeous views. Also has beautiful function rooms for a special event.A must for everyone to visit.
We booked a picnic basket through the restaurant's website and everything was ready for us to pick up when we arrived. There were plenty of seating options available, including tables by the river bank, among the trees, or on the veranda of the home. We opted for the veranda with a view of the trees. The picnic basket was filled with a variety of tasty foods such as chicken, ham, and salami, fresh salads, cheese bread, pickles, and ice cream for dessert. The food was fresh and delicious. We also chose to add a bottle of wine, selecting a Verdelho from the excellent vineyard on the property. Overall, it was a wonderful experience in a beautiful setting, although it was quite busy during the school holidays.
This review is specifically about the café/restaurant. The prices range from $22 to $30 for meals, with a very limited selection available for takeaway service, although tables and chairs are provided. I ordered the lasagna with chips. The chips were appreciated because the lasagna had a texture like rubber from being microwaved for 40 minutes. I didn't return it as to not upset anyone. My companions had the torte (good filling, but hard crust) and the chickpea curry (nothing special and quite bland). The drinks were excellent, so I had 2 to balance out the meal. The restaurant is beautiful, but the dining experience was not enjoyable.
