Lekker Vegan Cafe Kloof St - Cape Town

I really enjoyed the food here. I got the meatballs which were extremely tasty, but they were a bit small compared to what I’m used to. I got the half gatsby sandwich with vegan chicken and beef, honestly I didn’t know what was what, but it was really good regardless. The half sandwich was hugeee I could only eat half, so even if it’s a bit pricey it’s massive and you’ll get two meals out of it.

I really enjoyed dining at this restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic and the vegan fast food is delicious. The portions are generous, often enough to share between two people. I would give this place 5 stars, but it seems like they use store-bought soy products for most of their dishes, making them easy to replicate at home. Despite this, I would definitely return because I had a great experience. They typically only open from noon onwards, so make sure to check their hours before visiting.

A few weeks ago one of my students ' proposed that we go vegan for lunch at the office. He was widely rebuked at first but because we are a very democratic group, we decided to go with his option of a Lekker Vegan gatsby. Now, recently, as a group we have tried out quite a few spots and we were very sceptical of a meatless gatsby. However, R200 later per gatsby, the student pitched up with 3 gatsby 's. 'Beef ', 'chicken ' and 'mix ' and we digged in. I did not like the chicken one but that is just preference. The chicken just did not taste lekker or like chicken. But, the 'Beef ' one was cool. Really nice and fresh salad ingredients and the chips was very good. The roll is something different but it was OK. I told my students that I would have loved more sauce and they said they could have asked for more sauce so that should not decrease ratings . I gave the gatsby a solid 7.5 out of 10 and would recommend that everyone in CPT try it out to experience it for themselves.

I'm a full on meat eater. My mom is a vegan. I took her here for mother's Day and she said that it was one of the yummiest things she's eaten in a real long time. I also agree with that. To be honest. The nachos that I had were delicious. I'd highly recommend this place even if you're a meat eater. Also got a nice 50% off for my mom.

Went there for dinner last night, got the 222 Lockdown Deal, the Nachos were incredible! I love, love, love the cheese sauce. The burgers weren't as impressive... But there are still many items on the menu I want to go try! Will definitely visit again. In a very vibey part of town, on Kloof street. Parking is a bit of a pain at certain times of day. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has indoor and outdoor seating available. They even have a little selfie light installed where they encourage customers to take a selfie and tag them. Overall a very nice place to go have a meal. Would recommend.
