Birthday and anniversary supper on the 8th of July and a master class experience gifted by my amazing sisters on the 15th July 2017. My sisters review says it all. Definitely coming back and definitely recommending to everyone I know!
It was my sisters birthday and I booked their Master Class via their online booking system. It was all very user friendly and I received an email confirmation of my booking. Despite the initial issues with cancellation of the booking from their side due to not having an Executive Chef to do the class, it all turned out amazing. When they found out that the booking was especially made for my sister 's birthday they bent over backwards to accommodate us. Their amazing sous chef Lyle Brinkhuis stepped in and offered the session. All I can say is my sisters and I had an amazing experience from working in a first class kitchen to being tutored by a world class chef to the hospitality from all the staff Buddy, Marche even Charlene and Carol in reservations. From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left they were attentive and saw to our every need. Thank you so much for the amazing experience and as per my sister 's words 'best birthday gift ever '. We will definitely be back.
What tasty meals. So while staying at the hotel, we tried the restaurant downstairs. First day I had the lamb shank which was really tasty. So ended coming back and this time I ordered the lamb curry which was also cooked to perfection, the garlic naan was to die for. The one area for improvement is definitely the service. The restaurant on both occasions had only one waiter serving the entire restaurant which is obviously a disaster.
As soon as you walk into the Hilton hotel, it's hard to miss this contemporary space on your left.<br/ <br/ The decor screams elegance. I am enthralled. They've done a great revamp and I love how much attention was paid to detail. From the glass door screen, to the high wooden tables, the lighting and right down to the TEAPOTS, they've just done it right.<br/ <br/ I'm honestly not sure which I'm more excited about. The decor or the food. (Scroll through the pictures of the decor! <br/ <br/ So we spent a rainy Sunday afternoon, post picnic, looking for something hot to drink. We had no intention of a fancy place, just a quick coffee or in my case, a rooibos tea would do.<br/ <br/ We were seated quite quickly. It was nice to have the place to ourselves before the crowd came in. The menus were encased between 2 glass slabs, which I found quite different. It's really nice but it's abit difficult to pass around or place elsewhere because of the weight. They have a variety of both hot and cold drinks, including freshly pressed juice. The cake/dessert section is limited. They do have the basics tho. I'd love to see some macarons or mini cakes on the menu<br/ <br/ The waiters were abit slow in taking and bringing the order. There were only 2 of them on the job, despite the large crowd that came in after us.<br/ <br/ We ordered tea and a coffee, with a croissant and brownie to go with.<br/ <br/ I was thrilled with the tea presentation. The cups and the teapots had quite an African look to it but tied in quite well with a rest of the decor. The tea arrived piping hot, which was great. However, I needed some lemon slices to go with my rooibos tea and they took a whole 10 minutes to get it. They also add a little cookie on the side. A lovely thought, I'd think.<br/ <br/ The chocolate croissant was abit dry and old. It was really hard to cut it. The presentation of it was good tho. There was a generous amount of chocolate and nuts on it. It would have made all the difference to the overall flavour if it was fresh.<br/ <br/ My friend said the sweetness of her chocolate brownie was over powering and the consistency of it wasn't like how a brownie is meant to be.<br/ <br/ I am absolutely blown away by this place and I can't wait to sample more stuff on their menu. More especially from the actual restaurant. Everything's strictly halaal and there's no alcohol server here either. A great bonus !
I walked in here for breakfast the day after their opening- following much hype on social media. <br/ <br/ I opted to dine from their menu rather than the buffet, to have the fine dining experience. Unfortunately I was left a little underwhelmed. My MLT croissants were absolutely tiny and I left hungry. It was just slapped onto my plate- what happened to plating meals for your clients?<br/ <br/ I understand that they were busy with the buffet- then perhaps not allow walk-ins from the public in the morning?
