When I say well-stocked, I mean they have just about anything you might need, from CB accessories to AC recharge bottles and various chrome parts. They even had car batteries and lawn mower batteries, albeit with a smaller selection, which could be handy in a pinch. The drink selection was impressive, including alcoholic beverages, as well as the usual convenience store snacks. As for the bathrooms, the men's restroom was clean and smelled decent. The showers were also clean, although they had unfinished concrete floors and no ventilation. Regarding the diner, I spent a day and a half there and had both breakfast and dinner. The food was very affordable and quite good, with a hot bar available if you're in a hurry. I'm really glad I discovered this gem, and I will definitely stop by the next time I'm in the area.
This is a fantastic spot! I make it a point to stop here whenever I travel on Highway 22 between Birmingham and Memphis. There's a nice free parking lot available, which is a big plus. The restaurant serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. They also have showers available, though I didn't use them this time because I was in a bit of a rush after waking up. Overall, I highly recommend this place!
It seems they are in the process of remodeling, but it's not a messy construction site. They're simply building a separate fuel area and designating space for what looks like a truck parts and fuel section near the side door. I've never seen an area under construction that was so clean—it's impressive!
I stopped here to get gas and hoped to find a McDonald's, but there wasn't one around. The interior of the place is dim and very outdated. The diner had some food on display, but it all looked unappetizing, so I opted for a corn dog for $2. There's a sign that says there’s no fast food here, and they definitely stick to that. I don't think corn dogs can expire, but it sure seemed like mine might have by the time I finally got to pay for it.
I stopped in for some diesel and a quick snack. It seems they have a café, and I believe the special today was biscuits and gravy. The staff were extremely friendly, and the place was quite clean.
