Cafe Fenix - Carboneras

En mi opinión, el mejor bar de tapas del pueblo en este momento es El Fénix. Sirven la cerveza Mahou clásica de forma tradicional y ofrecen 18 tapas calientes para elegir. El servicio es eficiente y amable. En este pueblo se nota la rivalidad entre los bares de tapas, pero actualmente prefiero El Fénix por encima de otros como Chiringuito Juan Mariano, La Marina y La Frontera. Sin menospreciar el bar del Llano, el pueblo de al lado.

We went into this place due to the good 'beer and tapas ' offer and we went back each day we were here. The tapas was utterly amazing, and the beer was top knotch, served in iced glasses. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the star of the show was definitely the tapas anchovies, pork lomo, too many to mention the prices are very reasonable give it a go!

The restaurant looked good and was quite busy, so we thought it should be good. They specialised in sea food so the 3 of us went for a sea food platter, they said they didn't have a English menu, but we spend a lot of time in Spain as we have a villa in Mojacar, so we can read a Spanish menu. We had 4 large beers and my wife had 2 Cokes, no deserts, the seafood was OK but nothing to write home about, but the bill came to over €120 which as given to us verbally. When I asked for a itemised bill, the waiter came over and wrote it out with just a load of numbers, when I asked the price of the beers was told €6 each! The price for beers all around Mojacar are between €2-3 so what a ripoff. I think they thought just a few tourists and we can get away with that. We are not going back and I would not recommend anyone else to do so.

For me right now the best tapas bar in the village, the classic faucet of mahou well launched in the tasca of madrid. 18 hot caps to choose from, efficient and pleasant attention. In this village you can see the theme of the rivalry between the tapas bars three are the most known: chiringuito juan mariano, la marina and the border (without depressing the bar of the next town) but now I am 100% for the phoenix and so tapas.
