This restaurant is amazing. I have visited a few times now and whether you are looking for a delicious coffee and some of the largest and most delicious slices of cake you can find, or a variety of drinks for a night cap, this is the place to be. The prices are very reasonable and the space has a cool vibe with thoughtful design elements. The chairs are vintage cinema seats from Poland and the tables are old sewing tables from the Czech Republic. I hosted a fundraising event here and the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping by.
I've passed La Belle Epoque a few times and only recently ventured in. What a brilliant idea that was this place is decked out with beautiful decor, it has really welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. It's a great place to take your laptop...and catch up with work or perfect for dates and meetings. Here's the best part I have never tried coffee made so well and so consistently good.. the polish bar manager (Jakub is a gem and will make sure to take care or you. New local and one of my favourite places to go !
I stumbled upon La Belle Epoque by chance while staying in an Airbnb in Roath. I took a walk in search of a place to have a nightcap and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing atmosphere and friendly welcome from the staff at La Belle Epoque. I was intrigued to see young men coming in just for ice cream, and the display of pastries was incredible with people constantly stopping by to buy cakes. The young Polish man working behind the bar impressed us with his juggling skills with the glasses. The unique furnishing, including old cinema seats from Poland and tables made from reclaimed sewing machine treadles, added to the charm of the place. In addition to cakes, they also offered rolls and various meals. Overall, La Belle Epoque is definitely worth a visit.
Second visit here with my daughter and grandchildren. Really love the cinema seats and tables converted from sewing machines very quirky! Not the cheapest place for coffee and a cake but they are delicious, and you will be spoilt for choice of which one to...have. Definitely recommend a visit.
