We stopped by for a cup of tea and possibly a slice of cake, but were quite disappointed with our experience. The service was lovely and my peppermint tea was good, but my husband's millionaire's shortbread was just okay.
We skipped the hotel's breakfast as we weren't particularly hungry. However, while we were there shortly after opening a Saturday morning 10. 00 had no baguettes for the bacon option. There was no fruit salad that was an option in the menu published on the wall when we entered. This left us with limited options. Although I have to say that bacon in whole bread was excellent at the end. My partner took a croissant, which was right.
I entered John Lewis while I was in my lunch hour just to look around, I ended up eating here asking for a sandwich, cappuccino and a bowl. The staff was very fast and very polite, and a helpful guy cleared the table where he wanted to sit with an almost perfect synchronization. I'll visit soon again, only the fall was scone was a bit difficult in the middle. Coffee was great.
I avoid eating in this coffee as a standard, as the quality of the products and hot drinks served are of low quality and too expensive. I recently called my daughter to drink a cold drink and almost fell in shock when I was charged 3.50 for a small bottle of Fentimans Dandelion and Burdock, what a total scam! The independent cafes in the town do not charge near this price. In the future I will support independent coffee.
