Firabar - Cardona

We were tired and hungry and we thought it was alright. There's not much choice here, we just went for the less touristy of the bars in the main square. Reasonable price, we had 5 tapas dishes, 2 desserts and a bottle of cava for 75 euro. The baby octupus and grilled squid were tasty. Nice salad (asking for no dressing would have been better on hindsight). Bar full of locals watching football. Admittedly it was low season, perhaps our experience would have been quite different in the summer. But, if you're looking for laid back, no fuss, local food with no pretence in Cardona in low season, this is it.

We have spent 3 months in Spain and been blown away by the food until this evening. We ordered tomato and feta salad for 8euros. What arrived was less than half a tomato thinly sliced with 4 small olives and the tiniest sprinkling of finely grated cheese. No bread to accompany. The potato dish we ordered was the smallest portion of reheated fried potatoes again with a very sparse sprinkling of cheese at 6.50 Euros. What added further insult was the amazing looking salad served to a local customer! Terrible value for money, definitely advise eating elsewhere.

The whole problem with this restaurant is that quality of the food and the way it is cooked completely mismatch the price of the menu. It is overpriced! I would have paid half the price in Madrid for what I ate here and with much better quality.
