Shingle Inn Carindale - CARINA HEIGHTS

I had a ham, cheese and pineapple melt on a recent visit. The food was on a small piece of dry bread and the cheese was hardly melted. Never again will I go to Shingles Inn at Carindale

I did not receive a smile and the tea was bad (how is it possible to mess that up???) The service was poor. When I tried to order from the Table Menu, I was rudely told to put the menu back by the staff behind the counter. Additionally, the menu advertised TWO hand-made scones with jam, but I only received ONE. When I asked about this, I was curtly told, "I gave you one, you paid for one." Shingle Inn, please improve your service.

I ordered the lasagna and was disappointed to receive the smallest serving I have ever been given for $18.90, and it hardly had any meat. My daughter's toasted sandwich was thin with only a few wafer-thin pieces of chicken. Overall, it was a waste of money and very underwhelming.

My family and I went to a restaurant in Carindale, QLD for breakfast. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. The restaurant should learn a thing or two from other cafes in the area. I ordered cinnamon toast, but what arrived was two thin, dry pieces of white toast with barely any butter and a very light sprinkling of cinnamon (if you can even call it that). The ham, cheese, and tomato sandwich also appeared to be made with cheap, thin bread and had very little filling. To make matters worse, the eggs Florentine we ordered never showed up. When we inquired about it, we were told it was never even put in the order, despite my daughter being there with me when I placed it. The fact that our order wasn't confirmed back to us suggests that this may not be an isolated incident. With so many other choices available in Carindale, the restaurant would need to greatly improve to make us want to return.

We decided to give it a go due to the comfy looking wingback couches. We ordered the hot chocolate special and mocha frappe. The choc was mediocre except for the tiny bit of fudge sauce. The mocha was as tasteless as cold sawdust and I had to send it back. It was redone and made creamier but hardly an improvement as it was bitter. My hubby thought it was dodgy that both these items had no descriptions on the beverages menu. We won't be back.
