Delicious morsels on every plate, the stuffed fried olives are well worth a taste .... honestly every plate was perfect for my palate.The Carne (Hanger Steak), Vieiras Con Cheta (Seared Scallops) and the Bondiola Ahumado (Smoked Pork shoulder) were my pick of the plates with all condiments perfectly flavour matched.
Spent an interesting evening at Ole recently. The service was good and the overall ambiance was welcoming and friendly, but the food was so disappointing. The paella was soggy and greasy, making a slopping noise when it hit the plate. It was also so salty and that flavour dominated at the expense of all others. It was also supposed to be a share plate - by the time a few now hungry friends had had a go at it there was not much left. The squid starter (tapas) was totally lacking in imagination. The mushroom tapas was swimming in a soup-like sauce and again disappointing in taste and effort. The bread to soak up the sauce was in very short supply - there were six of us! One piece per dish?? The meatball tapas was little better - I think the ones from Aldi taste better. So, all in all a disappointing and expensive experience which I won't be repeating
This is a nice spot to have lunch and watch the world go by. We found the service to be attentive and friendly. Whilst the wine by the glass options are nice, a few more Spanish wines by the glass would be a nice touch.
Had an amazing family lunch here for my partners birthday. Food, service and all round experience was amazing. Cant wait to come back!!! Try the lamb!!
Heard good reports about this newcomer to Hawthorne and we were not disappointed! Starters were shared among 6....olives, anchovies, meat balls calamari and followed by shared paella (seafood) and lamb shoulder.......excellent all round! Topped off by a very drinkable Tempranillo from Spain. Book though...very popular.
