I sat on the deck with a view overlooking the golf course, enjoying a pleasant summer breeze while having a drink with friends. The service was good and the steak was tender. It's a great option for a cheap night out when you need a break from cooking.
I wish there was a zero-star option because this review would be for the events manager, Craig. I have never encountered someone so unprofessional and incompetent in their job. Craig does not help with events, he only creates problems. He is dishonest and claimed that the club does not allow guests to bring their own desserts, even though we have done so at previous events. He also contradicted what another event manager told us. Craig lacks diplomacy and effective communication. He has no people skills. The previous event manager, Amber, was wonderful, but Craig is a disappointment. Save your money and go elsewhere, it's not worth dealing with him.
I was going to play with a mate at his course on my day off. When driving down from the north side of Brisbane and coming down Scrub road and getting a glimpse of the course, I knew I was in for a good round as the teaser of the course was excellent. The pro shop was good, easy to book in. The course was amazing. Well kept, well manicured. Very scenic. Very good surfaces all around. I came away with a little course envy as my course isn’t as lush as this one. A really great course to play. If you’re not a member, you need to phone up to check times and availability for social golf. I can’t recommend this course highly enough. Get out, grip and rip it.
If you are looking for a family friendly location with a great kids club room full of electronic devices and toys to keep the kids amused and cheap drinks to keep the adults amused then this place is great. unfortunately the same can't be said for the food. I ordered the pizza which was on special for the night and my son had the kids pizza which was very small (fitted into a saucer almost) and burnt. I know kids portions are small but for $9 I was expecting something a little more substantial and ideally less burnt. My pizza came out less burnt but tasteless. The reason I gave it a 3 rating was because it's not pretending to be a pizza place so an oven pizza done under the grill. is probably what I should expect but not a tiny thing for the kids.
With a new chef the club has had a real boost in diners at the restaurant! But their meal costs are over the fence for what you get! Two of our group had the barramundi for a whopping $34.00 with the fish about 100-150 grams sitting on a huge dump of mashed potato and broccoli broccoli wherevefr you looked! My friend and I chose the excellent chicken parmigiana with a threesome of broccoli (heaps of it! some squash and zucchini and some pretty dry and tasteless potato chips. The combination of these three veges that do not appeal to everybody kind of spoilt the meals! If, like me, you hate broccoli then your serving shrinks considerably when you take it away .....:. the chef must own a broccoli farm I'm sure ......
