Double Happiness House - Carlisle

There is no question that this is the best Chinese restaurant in Carlisle. I have been coming here for over 20 years and the food has always been excellent.

We ordered a large salt and pepper box without ribs, wings, BBQ sauce, and rice at Double Happiness. Upon receiving our order, we discovered that we had been given the wrong food. After a phone call from the restaurant, we returned and exchanged it for our correct order, which included ribs, wings, curry sauce, and chow mein. Unfortunately, my daughter became ill after eating the wings and was unwell for a day. If you are looking for subpar food and poor customer service, I would not recommend dining at Double Happiness.

The salt and pepper chili chicken was delicious. The prawn toast was also good. The chow mein was just as tasty as always. The service was excellent and despite the appearance of the dining area, the food quality was outstanding. This is definitely the best Chinese takeout in Carlisle.

We had a great Friday night tea! Ordered by phone on way home from work and ready on time to collect. Food was perfect and service friendly too.

If you want the best Chinese food in Carlisle then here is the place for you. All the food is cooked well without MSG and using non GM ingredients. The salt and pepper chicken is fantastic. The service is very efficient and prices are great value. The waiting area has the worst tiling you've ever seen! but we keep returning as the food is so good and the decor does not matter. The hygiene rating is the best possible and the chefs qualification certificate is on display. The food says it all. Excellent.
