Overpriced eating, tiny portions, uncooked chips. unacceptable waiting to be shown on table.

After a day to foot hadrians wall we were recommended the golden fleece. we were in the orchard house and the owner took us there and left us after our meal. Eat brilliant and the personal was so smart in their tweeted waist. beautiful quiet meal and very enjoyed us. would return safely in the future.

I moved to Carlisle six months ago and have tried some fantastic places to eat, but the Golden Fleece stands out as exceptional. They prioritize quality over quantity and have consistently delivered perfection in both food and service.

Our visit to the Golden Fleece was outstanding in every way the food the service and the value for money. The steak i had was the best this year along with the peppercorn and brandy sauce. My wife had the sea bass which also very good . Make sure you book before going to the restaurant as it is always busy as word gets around how good this place is .

This is a nice restaurant, and we've visited several times. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The food is generally good, though it can be hit or miss at times. For instance, the canapés are the same on each visit: chipolata sausages in honey and mustard, which aren’t particularly remarkable and are easily made at home. The hummus, however, is delightful, especially when served with crisp bread and chips. I enjoyed it during my first two visits, but after a few more, it has become a bit repetitive. Unfortunately, my monkfish was overcooked this time, which was disappointing. On the bright side, the butter bean and chorizo cassoulet was a real treat. I think it's the inconsistency that stands out; when the food is exceptional, the less impressive dishes are all the more noticeable.
