Ihop - Carlitos

We were taken to our table quickly, and ordered right away. The food was really good and came out very fast. The waitress was kind and friendly and attentive. Everything was clean and she was busy cleaning tables in between waiting on us. Very pleased with everything!

I was kinda skeptical at first due to previous reviews, we went on a Saturday morning, restaurant seemed cleaned and in order. We sat down, waitress ask us for our drinks, she came almost immediately with our drinks. We took time to order, because it was a group of 6, and we wanted to order everyone at the same time. She (waitress) took our food order… and we waited for almost 30-45 to get our food. During this time she was on top of us, asking us to see if needed more drinks. Good thing is that we all got our food together at the same time and food was still warm-hot. Overall I give a 3.8 out of 5 stars. Service was good, for they really took a while to prep the food.

I feel I go into establishments with an open mind. This place disappointed me. Walk in and was seated almost immediately, things quickly went down hill server didn't say hey were out of this or that I ordered a simple burger and was told we don't have any burgers so I ordered something else and they were out of that as well. Service was ok but everyone who came in to eat was seated in the same section of the resturant. Food was cold and had to wait forever for it to arrive management could learn a thing or two on how to run a business.

Things they were out of: Waffles, burger patties and buns, lettuce, protein pancake mix, hoagie rolls, shrimp, and fish. There were only a half-dozen tables seated, with several dozen tables sitting empty, but they were telling parties of two that the wait would be 10-20 minutes. Was told they were out of what I ordered after already ordering, then they left it on the final bill even though I ordered something else instead.Staff made it seem like this was an isolated situation, but the other reviews here indicate that’s clearly not the case, and it’s obviously an issue with management. How IHOP hasn’t stepped in already is a mystery to me, given they appear to be reading the comments here.Staff was transparent and honest about being shortstaffed and undersupplied, but why even remain open at that point? It’s not like IHOP food is anything special, you go for the consistency and reliability. Once that’s gone, what do you have left?

Went to IHOP here in Carlsbad NM, never again, sat there for over an hour waiting for food...then once food was brought out I was only giving half..my husband had his full meal he ate and was done before I got my other half...
