Milton's Brewing - Carlsbad

Rude women bartenders that talked **** about about us (two women) when we ordered a flight with an IPA. They were snarky about us not going to like it just because it was an IPA. They also talked down on us asking if we even knew what a brewed beer was. Not a vibe. Left as soon as we finished ALL our beers, even the damn IPA.

We needed to wet our whistles after a day of hiking in Guadeloupe National Park. A Sunday there were a few places closed but Milton's was open so we stopped for a beer. I choose the bellydragger brown ale and Jill picked the Hefeweizen. We both loved our beers. The bar tender was super friendly and allowed us to not only sate our thirst but also our curiosity by. Tasting a few of the other beers on tap. Overall a fantastic visit. Highly recommended in you are visiting Carlsbad.

One easy metric for a place you haven't visited before is how many good breweries they have and what the vibes are there. Milton's is great downtown (sorta, by Carlsbad's standards), good beers (I had the Kolsch and the Red Ale, both excellent), friendlies behind the bar, lotsa nice people drinking, cool old space with the tin ceiling you expect. I'll be back!

Good place! Nice beer choices with Milton's brews as well as some guest taps. I guess they have a food truck occasionally but not the night we were there. Great spot if you're thirsty for a good, cold beer!
