Highly recommended for food lovers seeking quality and flavor!
I've been coming to many , many years and have brought up many friends with me. We love the atmosphere and the food here is very good. I cannot ever remember having a bad dinner or lunch.
I don’t ride my Oysters with training wheels. On the other hand, maybe you like to top your raw oyster/clams with condiments. Still others may perhaps like them cooked. To each their own. It does not matter if you like it with or without condiments. It does not matter if you like it raw or cooked (Rockefeller, Oreganata, Casino, Steamed, Roasted, Fried or Southern Fried), if you want to understand what the fuss is all about then I recommend you visit Biggie’s (430 Rt 17 S Carlstadt NJ). From a humble beginning in 1946, selling clams on half shell from pails pushcart on the street corners of Hoboken NJ, they have come a long way. Biggie’s is not your grandfather’s Oldsmobile; it is an American success story rooted in knowledge experience acquired over four generations. They know what they are doing and are passionate about it. No place in NJ does oysters/clams better than Biggie’s. It is amongst the few places outside of New England that does the whole belly fried clams (as opposed to strips). Even their thin crust white clam pizza (tortilla crust), is outstanding just based on the merit of their amazingly fresh clams. This is the place where you take a friend who wants to try Oysters for the very first time (they are today much more than just Oysters/Clams). This is a place you go to with your family.
One of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. First time visiting the New York area and was greeted with some awesome food and service. Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie was very good. Solid restaurant and well worth a high rating. Parking: Parking is angled in front of the building. A little tight and could run out of room if more busy. We found spots easily, but you may need to resort to street parking.
