The food at this restaurant is excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for amazing Vietnamese food. The prices are affordable and the atmosphere is lovely. I enjoyed the delicious pho and noodles, which were brought to our table quickly, indicating great service.
Saigon Pho on the CBD end of Lygon St where Italian food gives way to a more miscellaneous combination of cuisines- Japanese, Thai, Malaysian and Turkish. <br/ <br/ The broken rice combination is done with authenticity and a love of their craft. You know it immediately once there’s egg pâté served that you’re not in a Vietnamese franchise chain- you have the real deal with all its variety on a single platter. The dish comes with shredded pork skin, egg-pork pâté, a perfectly fried egg (without that crispy skin), a marinated piece of pork, some salad, sauce and broken rice.
We decided to try the beef Pho, which was served with beef, tendon, and a variety of fresh herbs. The clear broth, simmered for a long time with a combination of chicken and beef bones, was aromatic. The addition of the fresh herbs enhanced the overall experience. The meat was tender and flavorful, creating a delightful meal.
Perfect meal for cloudy and rainy Melbourne afternoon. Tried 'The Lot ' Pho with combination of beef and chicken parts. The broth had a deep flavor. Really aromatic. Beef was tender and juicy. Also tried the chicken ribs on tomato rice, tasted really full of flavor. The spring roll was thin, crispy, and yummy.
