The meat was tender and easy to chew, without being tough or getting stuck in your teeth. The drinks were refreshing, and the Kvass stood out as truly excellent; it had a creamy consistency that made it very satisfying. Their homemade olives were also a treat, crafted with a recipe that strikes the right balance—often, restaurants use too much mayo, but here, it was just right. I highly recommend this place for special occasions like birthdays and even more somber gatherings like funerals. This restaurant definitely deserves a five-star rating from me!
I've visited this restaurant before. First, the food is fantastic 99% of the time. However, I did notice that the chebureki I ordered on two different occasions were not boiled—just a heads up on that. Additionally, some of the staff can be quite rude, and the owners should consider improving service to avoid a strictly Russian-style experience. I've ordered catering from them for all our birthdays, and while some people think it's expensive, I believe the quality is worth it. I hope they recover from the fire soon so we can return. And I must mention, the owner's responses to the one, two, and three-star reviews have a distinctly Russian flair—they're a bit unprofessional but, well, we are in the U.S.!
That was a good location until it was burnt down. It is a good quality Russian food that hopefully will be reopened soon. It is higher in price compared to Russian shops, but the quality is much better, so I see justification for higher price.
First customer and I'm hacked! I have eaten Ukrainian foods like crazy (perogies, blintze, cabbage rolls, etc.) and discovered this place (one of the few places I could find that offer Eastern European cuisine next to food markets . It's small, but powerful, and the food was fantastic. Despite not ordering warm perogies, you can pick them up frozen from here. There is no seat and no public toilet room. It is a hot and cold food line that contains both spices and candy only for togo orders. I couldn't order in advance via Door Dash due to a high volume message, but it was fast in-and-out service when I was fine. Moreover, it is more fun to order within where you can see that everything is displayed with a very user-friendly menu (many pictures to help you hone in . I will definitely return and often! Try everything!
Elena's kitchen never disappoints. We made Elena celebrate our wedding and they even delivered the food to a place in Truckee that required off-road rides.
