Gar Woods Grill Pier - CARNELIAN BAY

We came here because we heard the crab sandwich. I had the slides, but my daughter had the crab sandwich. I was very happy with my sliders, unfortunately my daughter was very disappointed and couldn't finish her sandwich. It was watery and tasteless. So while I can recommend the restaurant for it beef, and the view. Keep away from this evil crab.

Great location with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. The dining room is somewhat overcrowded, but this is balanced by the quality of views, food and service. The waiter was excellent. The food was excellent. The fillet Mignon was very well prepared and the vegetables were great. Very recommended.

Sister restaurant to the Riva Lakeside Grill in South Lake Tahoe. The same menu and the same great drinks. The 'Wet Woody 's' are great $5 on 'Wet Woody Wednesday'. Try their homemade salt-acetic chips and dive. Only bad was the hostess I think her name was Carla was uncomfortable almost at the point of being rude. Fortunately, we only had to deal with her a few times. Our server was very sweet and personal.

Our experience was not ideal. We arrived for a large gathering, but our table was delayed by 45 minutes compared to the rest of our party. Although five of us arrived a bit late, the restaurant was inflexible about seating us at the available tables next to our group. The crab sandwich, which was supposed to be served on sourdough bread, turned out to be just sourdough toast, and for $32, I expected something more substantial than a single slice. The soup was satisfactory, though a bit too salty for my taste. On a positive note, the bar was lively and welcoming, and it’s nice that you can take your drinks into the beach area, which is beautiful.

Gar Woods is one of the best dining spots in Lake Tahoe. I've been visiting this restaurant for years, and I always make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in town. I recommend making a reservation, as it tends to be quite busy.
