Tammi's Diner - Caroga Lake

Where do I start? Today was my first time dining at Metro Diner. Upon arrival the glorious scent of well seasoned food met us at the door. The hostess told us that there was about a 30 minute wait for two people. We didn 't mind because we arrived at noon. Our information was taken and off to our vehicle we went. The wait ended up only being 15 mins as other people were leaving. Once seated we were greeted by Maddy or SUPER sweet and very knowledgeable server. We ordered Pineapple juice and Orange juice. For lunch we ordered The Chicken Waffles (comes with half a Chicken) I wanted all white meat so I got two BIG Chicken Titties.The breast were very well seasoned and the crust OMG was so delicious and crunchy and perfect (Like me). We also ordered the Charleston Shrimp Grits. We asked if they could fry the shrimp as it would be better for us. The restaurant was able to accommodate our request and we are so happy that they did. The way they seasoned that shrimp made us blush. We also ordered the Bissell Breakfast and that was VERY tasty as well. The owner Daniel the owner came out to greet us and he was such a delight. I loved that he took time to speak with every table with a smile. He also made sure to explain the specials of the weekand to thank us for coming in. Daniel made sure that he told us about the Mimosa Flights (We ordered one) and we also enjoyed a Orange Crush. Both drinks were very refreshing and tasty. Overall I WILL return and become a regular based off of the Chicken Titties the service we received from Maddy and the way that Daniel made us feel.

I can only say WOW! The customer service is exceptional, the staff is fantastic, and the food is even better. This is definitely a place you’ll want to come back to. The staff is incredibly friendly and engaging, and they’re happy to offer recommendations. The food is freshly made with care. Additionally, the menu provides plenty of options. The only reason I didn't give this location a 5-star rating is that their Biscuits and Gravy didn’t quite meet my personal standards.

During my first visit to this restaurant, I really enjoyed the food. However, on my second visit, it was a different experience. I had to wait a long time for my meal, and when it finally arrived, it was lukewarm. I didn't feel like waiting for it to be replaced or reheated, which left me quite disappointed with the overall meal.

I absolutely love the chicken and waffles! I order it every time I visit. The strawberry butter and hot sauce syrup are incredibly delicious, even for someone who's picky about food.

I visited for breakfast with another couple, and unfortunately, the food was served cold. The server attempted to reheat my meal in the microwave, but the eggs ended up being overcooked. One woman in our group didn't eat her meal at all because it was cold. Although we weren't charged for one meal and the coffee, we were never offered a replacement. I won't be going back to this restaurant.
