We wanted to experience a typical grotto and chose to drive here because it was nearby. It was off season and besides a few locals we were the only guests for lunch. We ordered Polenta and meat. The polenta tasted carton like and was covered in old mushrooms. We returned the food after a few bites.
This grotto offers very typical 'grotto food ', mainly from the big outdoor grill. It focuses on meat dishes and, therefore, the vegetarian selection is very limited. Service and prices are good, whilst the wine was sort of mediocre. However, it offers this charming 'grotto atmosphere '.
The surroundings, atmosphere and service is good. The food however was nothing special. The housevine is a good local merlot.
Beautiful setting, warm and cozy atmosphere, friendly server and very good food. Had polenta with porcini rustic and delicious! Loved that they were cooking some of the meats on a grate set in the fireplace.
