Victoria Hot Spot - Carrickfergus

We occasionally visit this fish and chip shop, and while the portions are smaller compared to other places, the quality is decent. We ordered a fish supper and a sausage supper, which ended up being much more expensive than Dillinger’s nearby. When I received my order, I was surprised by how light the bag was, and asked if everything was there. The employee confirmed that it was. However, when we got home, we found that the portions were extremely small – there were barely enough chips to make a sandwich. I called the owner to express my disappointment, and was told that everyone receives the same portions. I wish I had taken a photo to show the four chips that came with the fish. Overall, it was a total joke and we will not be returning.

The fish and chips at this restaurant were excellent. The fish was hot and lovely, and the chips were superb. We also had curry sauce and peas with our meal, which were delicious. We ordered by phone and our food was ready for us when we arrived, even though the restaurant was busy. Overall, a great experience!

I stopped by for a quick lunch and found the place to be clean and tidy. However, I wasn't too pleased with the food as it was a bit too greasy for my liking, even though it's a fish and chip shop. It must just be my personal preference, as there are plenty of positive reviews for this place.

Last time I had an order here it was wrong the owner delivered the missing items. So to night thought we would give it another go. Rang and placed order and called down to collect. There was a fish beside my bag, the girl looked through and checked my order twice no it was not mine. When I got home the chips were missing, what a disappointment and I had paid for them on the receipt. I could not get through on the phone so another trip down. I will not be going back. There is plenty of staff but they just seem to get in each other’s way.
