You can see a long curved shelve stacked with ricecakes of all sizes and shapes. My wife loves Korean rice cakes and made a beeline towards their stuff. She grabbed a variety of rice cakes and paid a the counter. Since they are separate from Super H Mart, you need to pay upfront before you walk away from the area.Once home, my wife made some Tteokbokki for dinner. We all exclaimed how good the rice cake texture is. We have had a lot of rice cakes over the years and can say Escape Rice Cake and Boba makes some very good ones. Definitely come here to pick up rice cakes if you need them.Parking: Hard to find parking as this place is inside Super H Mart and it's always packed
My mom bought 3 different rice cakes from here and we tried one and it was rotten. It tasted spoiled. The other two were fine. She called the store to let them know that one of the purchases was spoiled and the lady was nice and said that they will give us credit, so the next time we come in they will provide us a free rice cake to make up for the rotten one. Maybe 5 minutes later the lady calls back and states that she tried the other rice cakes at work and that it was fine, asked us to come back to the store to see the problem. We live 40 mins away, we weren’t going to drive back and forth… and the lady kept on insisting that the rice cakes were fine. If she said from the beginning that she can’t refund or do anything about it then we wouldn’t be too upset, it is what it is. But she offered a free rice cake and then calls back to take that offer back. She shouldn’t have offered that in the first place then. Horrible service. They claim that the rice cakes are fresh but there are many instances where the rice cakes are stale!
A treasure trove of mochi definitely caters to my weakness for fresh mochi. It has the sticky rice cakes in almost all shapes/forms/flavors. I was hoping they might have warabi mochi which is borderline jelly and often seen at Japanese stores but they didn't : they have Kinako, Black Sesame, Mugwort, and Mung Bean to name a few) and I was interested in trying the last one as it's the only flavor I hadn't yet tried. The mochi isn't sweet at all, low key savory from the Mung Bean powder. Def would have tasted better sweeter but good quality mochi. $5 for a pack and pretty reasonable cuz I think mochi takes a bit of labor to be kneaded and pounded. Sweet Asian lady who rang us up also provided good service.
Not bad. Was looking for some boba. Always on a hunt to find a new boba place and since we were shopping inside hmart and waiting in out food I decided to pick up boba here. Almond milk tea bobas. Simple. To go. Affordable and prices fairly and it was actually not bad! Hit the spot. Worth the try. All the yummies looked great too. Will try next time!
Great variety of dduk, and their milk teas are good too.
