Sage Cafe - Carson City

The Sage Café here at the hospital was closed to the public until just recently. I was open around 8 months ago, and then that Covid was on the rise again, so it locked down. But now with the virus seemingly lower, it's back open again and I love it! Just enter in the front and get a pass badge from the staff. I'll tell you what, this place has the best food for the lowest prices and there's not even sales tax, saving you 7.5% right off. It's a cafeteria set up where you tell the cook what you want off the large menu and they'll fix you up right there! There breakfast starting at 7am and lunch and dinner till around 6pm depending on the crowd and on weekends closed earlier. But food is available 7 days a week. The Ruben sandwiches, burgers and fries and onion rings are all good. For the more healthy they have a salad bar and grilled chicken breasts. Mostly this is feeding the hospital employees, but I just love coming here for the great food and low prices. Parking during the day can be tight, but you can still usually find a place.

For a hospital cafeteria this food is great. Most of the food is cooked right in front of you and they have daily specials that are phenomenal. Sometimes we'll go up there just to eat lunch. Highly recommend.

Great prices for the food! The tenders and fries were fresh and Crispy. Quick service and the whole place was really clean. Made the experience of being at the hospital slightly better. The downside is they close at 7pm, would be nice if they were open later.

The Sage Café at the Carson Tahoe Hospital is OPEN again to the public. During the last 1 1/2 years, the café has been restricted to staff and patients of the hospital, but now it's open again to the public! You just have to enter thru the front entrance and bee screen and wear a mask ... hey, this IS a hospital! The food is all the same great stuff, tho the stir-fry station is closed till they can hire more staff to tend the stir-fry station. There are no more soups or chili either due to covid restrictions. The main grill is open and serving great sandwiches and burgers ... even fried chicken wings today! Sides of mash potatoes and gravy as well as loaded baked potatoes are on offer as well. The food is sooo darn tasty here, The burgers have a real flame charbroiled flavor and are super generous on the fillings and meat as well on the sandwiches. Get over here and check it out, hospital food will never be the same once you've sampled the Sage Cafe!

This does not taste like hospital food . I like the fact there is a daily special as well as a menu. Since this is inside Carson Tahoe Hospital, the employees are extra thoughtful and kind. Many folks are there and worried for a loved one. Not your standard customer. Special skills are needed when folks are hungry and emotional, or exhausted. Basic menu choices but the items are chosen for comfort food value. Lots of tasty healthy choices too! Clean and visually appealing dining area. Every condiment known to man in packets!!! We go there just for lunch. Pricing is reasonable too.
