El Loro Verde - Cartagena

We always eat here at least two or three times every time we’re in La Manga. It’s a lovely spot to soak up the atmosphere and watch the world go by. We’ve had tostadas, coffee and orange juice fir breakfasts, tortilla and tapas at lunchtime and main meals in the evening. It’s good wholesome food, no frills, in a nice open-air setting with good staff and a nice busy atmosphere. Recently we had a lovely seafood paella but this was pretty filling and we really didn’t need starters of jamon and croquetas. Their flan is one of the best I’ve had perfect wobble, caramelly and home made. They also do a great pan de Calatrava which is husband’s favourite. We had two lovely waitresses this time around Carol (from Ecuador) and Eugenia. Just a La Manga landmark and also very cosy inside on a windy day or out of season.

We opted for the fixed price menu that came with wine. The food was really good, the service was friendly and helpful and we had a lovely meal looking out over the square. Recommended.

We liked the look of this restaurant but we 're very disappointed with the meal and the wine. We both chose fish dishes. The fish was fine but the chips were bits of chips rather than good 'frites '. The salad was just lettuce, tomato and a bit of onion. We ordered a rosada wine not the cheapest which was not cold enough and pretty rough. By far the poorest meal we have had in la manga.

Lugar sin grandes lujos. Comida de menú a un precio asombroso (13 euros) por la calidad de los productos (cocina local, peux fresco). Nos gustó el mojete (primer plato típico murciano con tomate maduro, atún, cebolla y aceitunas negras). El lucio a la romana era bueno y fresco y la carne muy en su punto exacto. Un arroz con leche bien cocido y sabroso. Camareros rápida al llevar comida y bebida en todo momento.
