Them are the absolute best no frills hamburgers around!! No sparked here, just plain hamburgers hand patted and cooked to perfection right on the grill that you can see!! One secret to good clean food, go to a place that u watch them cook it!! Zorro highly recommends this if u are in the mood for fresh hamburgers that don't break the bank!! Just plan to eat in your car!!
This place is truly a salt of the earth diner. Eating breakfast here this morning reminds me of the local diners I used to go to with my Dad when I was a kid back in the early 80's. <br/ <br/ The food is no frills. It is just homemade, grandmas cooking. The food was solid, southern comfort staples. Although the exterior looks like this place has been here for 80 years, the inside is very clean and the kitchen equipment is also very clean and well maintained. <br/ <br/ Don't come in the place if you don't like to be sociable. This is obviously where Cartersville locals come to hang out. Everyone knew everyone else there. Again, this adds to the local character of this place, which I love.
Classic 1920's Lunch Joint. I love this place.<br/ <br/ I've lived in Cartersville for about 20 years and until this year (2012), had never eaten in 4-Way Lunch because it looked like one corner of it was sinking into the ground, and because it looked like it was built in the 1920's.<br/ <br/ It WAS built in the 1920's.<br/ <br/ This year I took the plunge and actually ate there.<br/ <br/ Wow.<br/ <br/ Double Wow.<br/ <br/ $1.95 hamburger made fresh from unfrozen ground beef.<br/ <br/ Extremely thin menu. Hamburger, hot dog, chicken. That's it. But that's all you need.<br/ <br/ One of the specialties is gravy fries. Yeah, I know. But try them before you write them off.<br/ <br/ There's 8 stools in the front, and room for 3 to sit in the back.<br/ <br/ Don't ask for pasta primavera unless you want to get your ass kicked.<br/ <br/ When you're through eating, get up and let someone else have your bar stool.<br/ <br/ Very plain and simple and straightforward.<br/ <br/ Have someone take a picture of you standing in front of the building because when you get back home nobody will ever believe that you ate there.<br/ <br/ No web page. Well, they got along just fine since the 1920's without one, so who needs one now.<br/ <br/ Lots of people eat there every day.<br/ <br/ I heard they also serve breakfast, but have never been up early enough to confirm that.
Simple. Man, is this place fancy!!!! Well, not really. This is one of the most down-to-earth establishments I 've ever been to. I think it only seats ten people at a time. There are stools at a bar and behind the bar is where the cooks prepare the few items that are on their lunch menu. This was my first time here, so I ordered my son a Cheeseburger and myself a Steak Sandwich. I sampled his CB and was pleased with the flavor enough to place this restaurant on the 'like ' list. I can 't say I was overly pleased with the Steak Sandwich as it is drowned in gravy. Apparently, I ordered wrong, because they were selling alot of their ALL-THE-WAY-BURGERS to other customers. It is a burger covered in chili. Hopefully, I 'll get it next time. There was something about the experience that was very appealing. I guess the simplicity.
4-Way Diner. This has been a family tradition: my father-in-law took my husband to eat here, he takes our kids when they are in town, and now our grandkids go with their Pa-Pa to eat here, too. Save room for the fried peach or apple pie with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
